Just Arrived

im in kota kinabalu at the moment. just arrived for a short stop before hitting the skies (...in a good way) again tomorrow morning. im really at my worst right now because my body is still trying to re-configure its natural clock to make me living and sleeping like a normal person again. it took me almost an hour and a half to fall asleep last night at 11. the flight today was nice. clear skies wonderful weather, and everything seemed to fall into place quite well. im really looking forward for tomorrow's flight and i'll keep you all updated if i have time. for now i need to rest. yes i don't shower. it's me going green... literally.

at some point you need to move towards what you want. you can't just sit on the side of the road or forever your dreams will haunt. you have to walk until your feet bleed. you have to fall real hard and learn to succeed. i love this winding road of aviation and i have been traveling. it keeps meaning more to me with every mile unraveling. with every hours i give. with every flights i relive. with every numbers that I write. with every friendship i ignite. it all means that much more to me when i see how far i've gone. not in aviation, but in my current 21.5 years of life, and some more remaining in god's hands. cause even when my feet were blistered and bloodied, i know i can still walk on.

these photos are from last thursday. i just love flying this plane and replying radio calls to the air traffic controller. but rather than paying attention to the job that i should be doing, i fancy taking photos and edit it straight away from my phone just to make it look artsy and at the same time, make me look cool as well.

last week was quite a full week for me. came back from a night stop in penang on monday, relax on tuesday, work again on wednesday and the pattern continued back and forth till yesterday. i also realized that i haven't been using my digital camera much. i guess it's more like an offbeat for it ever since i got a better camera phone. anyway, it made me think that i should start to be more active again in this blog. i did some facelift for this site, so that i'm all excited again for each and every letter and time i type, and try not to get lazy as usual... hopefully.

greetings citizens of planet earth. after weeks of un-updated typings, numerous hours of me being busy ...with video games, and a multitude of boring blog post flooded inside flyfreak's page, today, i've decided that i wanted to post something that'll make you go "aaah, this guy is normal after all"... for 20 seconds. if not, 10. well, maybe 5. depends.

below is a photo that i took in penang yesterday during my night stop. everything about it is good. the room, the flight, the location, and the good night sleep that it gave me. everything ...the only part that's not good was when i woke-up earlier today realizing i left my lipstick and also my blusher kit at home.

i really dig this picture of me that zul took with his new blackberry. to really enjoy it like I do, you need some context or more appropriately some "rough ideas" of how the picture flows. right before he took the picture he said: “ok, jaz, pretend that you're fadzil and you're on top of a hill right now”. and from there, history is made.

Board Of Old Times

i was clearing the memory of my camera, and i was surprised that someone did manage to take a photo of the great white board inside the great crew room. all i know is that i'm not the one who took this photo. this is the board where we wrote our flying hours, some doodles, jokes and everything else that the mind of a man can think of. and yes, that red asterisk does have a meaning and a lot of "cause célèbre" has been shed with it. awesomely dandy.

over the past weeks zul did quite a good job to urge or more appropriately, forcing me to make a video/photo montage about non-other than the infamous yet smelliest, batch 10. go ahead and check it. all the photos are compiled from various sources, from cellphones to digital cameras to SLRs. do shirk and cry at it. but most importantly laugh your lungs out whenever fadzil's face pops out. yes, a little bit of fadzil makes your life more meaningful doesn't it? make sure you thank him. cool.

The Last Transmission

last year somewhere in november, with 13 hours clocked inside my logbook, i go for my first solo flight and own the callsign "apac 1052". yesterday i went for my last solo sortie, thus ending the period of my own callsign. i am going to miss using that callsign. after this, for the twin engine exercises, i'll only be using my instructor's callsign. so yeah, that's the end of apac 1052.

ok don't cry, let's talk about my last sortie. it's a solo sortie, but since it's a cross country flight and the total duration is about 3.5 hours, i decided to bring my mutual partner asyraf. he is one of the best people i’ve ever known. we mutualled(don't think that word as a word) most of our cpl flights together, spending countless hours on navigation and instrument excercises. we worked together, laughed, and played jokes. lots of awesome time has been spent. and i really appreciate his willingness to follow me on my last flight.
